Santa Rosa Oral Surgery celebrates the esteemed recognition of a member of their surgical staff into the College

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1402961277441{margin-bottom: -30px !important;}”]Santa Rosa, CA (June 9, 2014) – Dr. Christopher Daniel, DDS, MD, of Santa Rosa Oral Surgery was among the handful of Initiates from around the globe to become Fellows of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) during the Convocation Ceremony at the College’s annual Clinical Congress.

Dr. Daniel received a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of California in Davis, studied Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, earned a medical doctorate degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and is currently practicing at both the Santa Rosa office locations. Although Dr. Daniel enjoys all aspects of oral surgery practice, he specializes in extracting wisdom teeth and placing dental implants, and holds membership in other professional societies, including the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the California Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (CALAOMS), the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association (CDA), and the Redwood Empire Dental Society.  He is also on staff at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital taking part in the care of trauma patients.

By meeting the College’s stringent membership requirements, Fellows of the College have earned the distinguished right to use the designation of “FACS” (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after their names. An applicant for Fellowship must fulfill the following requirements in order to earn the FACS title:

  • A degree from an approved medical school
  • Completion of basic surgical requirements
  • A valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the country they practice
  • Completion of three years of surgical practice
  • Current hospital appointment
  • Current surgical practice

The surgeon’s acceptance as a Fellow of the College must be approved by three-fourths of the Board of Regents.

The American College of Surgeons is a scientific and educational organization of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to raise the standards of surgical practice and to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient. The College is dedicated to the ethical and competent practice of surgery. Its achievements have established it as an important advocate for all surgical patients.

About Christopher S. Daniel, DDS, MD, FACS

Dr. Christopher Daniel attended University of California, Davis, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree. He then went on to study Dentistry at the University of Texas in San Antonio and Medicine at the University of Texas in Houston, where he also completed his Residency. Dr. Daniel is an active member of the trauma service, caring for patients who have suffered maxillofacial injuries. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Redwood Empire Dental Society.  Although Dr. Daniel enjoys all aspects of oral surgery practice, he specializes in extracting wisdom teeth and placing dental implants.
