Answer: Right after you receive your implants, you can most certainly expect some discomfort for about three days or so. This is simply the result of undergoing a surgical procedure. However, you will not have to deal with any of this pain. Instead, we will set you up with instructions and any necessary prescriptions to ensure you are comfortable during the recovery process.
Question: A friend of mine experienced facial bruising after dental implant placement. Is this normal?
Answer: It is entirely normal to experience some amount of bruising and swelling for the first few days immediately following your surgery. This is the natural result of surgery and will resolve very quickly. We will offer you instructions to alleviate discomfort and minimize inflammation.
Question: Is it normal for the area surrounding my dental implants to hurt long after surgery? What if they’ve always been comfortable but now they aren’t?
