Our Expertise in Oral Surgery

Our team provides an array of oral surgical procedures to help you smile with confidence. For example, we can address facial trauma, correct jaws with orthognathic surgery, and even replace missing teeth with dental implants. Our team can extract wisdom teeth, bracket impacted teeth into place, and rebuild weakened portions of your jaw using grafting or a sinus lift. Our team is also part of the Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital Trauma Team, so we have experience in handling serious concerns and also doing so following the strict protocols and guidelines of the hospital operating room. To ensure your comfort, we can help with dental sedation.

Choosing the Right Sedation for You

Our team offers three different calming options to choose from. We choose one for you based on a number of different factors. For example, we can look at age, weight, medical history, the medications you take, and even your anxiety levels of special needs. These enable us to select an option to help you enter a calm and relaxed state, with little to no memory of the procedure in most cases.

Three Calming Medications

Our team could recommend nitrous oxide for more minor procedures. Administered through a mask over your nose, this helps you enter a calm and relaxed state, with little to no memory of the procedure at all. The effects end once the procedure does, so you can return to work or school, or even drive yourself home! Oral sedation is taken in pill or liquid form prior to the treatment, and helps you enter a calm and relaxed state, with again no memory of the procedure. But this state of calm is deeper, and you will be a bit groggy after the treatment ends, so have someone on hand to take you home afterward. The deepest form of medication is IV sedation, administered intravenously. A trained anesthesiologist will monitor you the entire time, and again you will have no memory of the procedure and will need someone to take you home afterward.
